I loved Secret of the Sirens! When can I read the next book?
Gorgon’s Gaze - book two of the Companions Quartet - is now out in hardback and available in all good book stores. Mines of the Minotaur – book three – will be published in March 2007.
All titles and their publication dates will be announced in the ‘About the books’ (link to it) page in the main part of the website. You will also receive email updates prior to publication.
Can I join the Companions Club if I live outside of the UK?
Yes you can. The Companions Club will send you updates via email about the series.
I’m an adult but I loved Secret of the Sirens, can I join the Companions Club too?
Yes! You’re never too old to care for the environment! Future generations rely on your actions.
How can I train with my companion?
Companion creatures don’t come with a manual! Everyone’s relationship with his or her companion is different.
There is a wealth of information out there about your companion creature in folklore, myth and legend dating back through the centuries and spread throughout many native cultures. Some creatures might be found in tales from all over the world, some may be particular to a region or country. Understanding the culture and geography of that land will give depth and dimension to your companion.
Just as the Gorgon’s existence was threatened by the destruction of Mallins Wood so might a specific environmental problem affect your creature in particular. This might be globally or locally. You might find that in taking time to learn about the issues your companion faces you will strengthen your bond. You might find the ‘links’ (link to) page a good place to start.
Many members have used creative writing and drawing to enrich their relationship with their creature and some have even shared it with us. If you feel inspired to do the same then visit the member’s artwork (link to) pages.
I am having problems accessing my company page. Whenever I sign in I am sent the wrong one.
As an ancient society we often find it hard to adapt to advances in technology! All problems signing in should now be resolved and you should be able to access your correct company page unless your computer has heavy parental restrictions in which case you will see a default background. If you do see the default background don’t panic! All members’ pages share the same content so we promise you won’t miss out anything you need as a full Society member.
I have signed up to the Companions Club but still haven’t received my membership pack. What’s happened?
We have had so many members sign up we just can’t send out membership packs quickly enough! This is wonderful news for the Society, the environment and for all creatures. Please keep being patient - we do appreciate it - and have faith that your pack will be with you soon. In the meantime the Society website and email updates will keep you informed.
Can I belong to more than one Company?
Although possible it is highly unlikely that you will belong to more than one company. Before Connie’s gift was discovered there were no new Universals for nearly a century and Connie is the only known living Universal in the world. Alas, it is thought that the Universal’s gift may be beginning to die out. As a third order companion it is likely that you will be a companion to everyday animals too and also have an affinity with a specific kind of creature, similar to your companion.
I have taken the companion assessment and been allocated my company but strongly feel I belong in another. Can I be reassigned?
If you truly feel you belong in another company then you will no doubt have a very specific creature in mind. Be guided by your intuition and know that it takes more than a certificate and a badge to make a true companion.
However we do urge you, like Connie and Col, to trust that the assessment is correct. Being a companion is an exciting journey and being open to discovery can bring many rewards. You may surprise yourself!
My parents are concerned that my information will be used by other organisations. Will you give my details to anyone else?
We have a strict policy not to share member’s information with anyone – be it other organisations or other members. A full statement can be found in the ‘Parental information’ (link to) page.
